Shoot a few years back by a friend Matt Patton this video is a moment in time in the Belfast scene and one we look back on fondly. In one afternoon we rounded up all our mates and fans and shot this in one take on Belfast Malone Avenue between Troy and Dave’s house and mine. I came up with the idea while serving coffee to people in Charlie’s Coffee Shop where I used to put on underground shows when the shutters went down (we also used to practice there). I feel this video captures the essence of the scene as it was, pretty much amazing to be part of. It features Colenso Parade (one DJ Phil Taggart off of BBC Radio 1), A Northern Light, Gacy’s Threads, More Thans Conquerors, Kasper Rosa, The 1930’s, Rory McConnell (BBC Introducing and our very own Di Di Mau Records), Will McConnell and more….not to mention all our mates.

Kids is out July 15th so get requesting in on your local or favourite national station.

Yo our darling #APRmy I trust you are all enjoying our tweets, vines and all that jazz as we’ve had a lot more time to concentrate on the fun side of the band since we moved to Nottingham and live together. Troy’s feet smell like onions. We’ve had a few shows already all over England so we’re feeling nice and settled already although must admit we do miss everyone back home and the Belfast craic. Dave has a baby willy. Best shows so far were Thekla in Bristol and Rock City Basement in Nottingham (the big home-coming show) which were both part of the incredible Dot to Dot Festival. If you haven’t already you should really check it out.

A Coustic Rose

We have begun our weekly acoustic session which we have called WAIT FOR IT….A Coustic Rose (genius) were we’ll be taking requests from you guys as to what we should play which can literally be anything as proven by week 1’s cover of ABBA’s Dancing Queen. Week 2 we dug out an APR classic in Scream If You Need It. It’s a lot of fun and gets you guys involved with what we’re up to so keep requesting.

Upcoming Live Shows

Gerry is a big turd. We have a mini UK tour starting next week on Thurs June 13th in Derby  here’s a list of the shows:

Derby The Venue Thurs 13th

Stoke Sugarmill Fri 14th

Our next single Kids Don’t Behave Like This is release digitally July 15th so get requesting it on your local and national stations and ya never know it might get a few spins. There’s a few remixes you’re gonna hear pretty soon from Sirkus Sirkuz, Palookavile and ESAD, they’re all amazing we can’t wait for you to have them to dance to.

OK that’s enough for now guys keep being awesome. More news to come soon…

3 weeks ago we said a sad farewell to our beloved Belfast with a killer show in Queens SU in front of the home crowd. A fitting way to end and era, we’d like to thank you all for coming out and loosing your minds from the start. Emotional to say the least.

Our good friend Jonny from gay, little girl band LaFaro drove us to Nottingham keeping us wetting ourselves laughing for the duration of the trip. Our pad is pretty sweet compared to what we were living in in Belfast and the weather the 1st few days was amazing so Notts made a very good 1st impression on us. Bought a van, sorted practice room, got pissed in Rock City, joined the library, told specsavers we moved and nailed down the internet, gas and electricity. Once all that crap was sorted we got straight down to business and hit the road to play Coventry for the 1st time in a sweet venue called The Kasbah where we were treated like kings by the owner Dimitri who cooked us an unreal 2 course Greek traditional meal. Cheers dude. The gig was great too and there was staggering amount of ladies compared to the dudes. Lucky night for the lads of Coventry!

Then back down to that there London to play Camden Barfly with Norwegian punks Honningbarna (check em put they’re awesome and completely mental. The London audience, as always, we’re fantastic and completely locked in from start to finish thank you so much guys. Next London show is Old Blue Last June 16th and it’s flippin FREE. Drove from Camden to our house in Notts without sat nav which is remarkable for us wee Irish boys. Had a naked pillow fight.

Flew back to Belfast then to play the Lord Mayor’s Party with a couple of X Factor finalists and a lot of screaming young wans which was a little strange but a lot of fun in the pouring rain was had. Even more fun was has straight after when we shot day 2 of the Kids Don’t Behave Like This video which I can’t reveal too much of but I can say you’ll pee yourself laughing.

Back in Notts now ready to play the Dot2Dot Festival this weekend which is super exciting as we played it last year and it was a definite highlight. Made a merch stand out of a music stand that I’m very proud of so we’ll see how that pans out.

Right guys that’s enough for now, I promise to do more of these and make them a little more fun as I get the hang of it again. Haven’t blogged in ages. Now that we’re finally here, living together and totally focused on the band we’ll be able to keep all this going regularly and invite you into our adventure a lot more. Acoustic sessions was mentioned so if ya want us to record a song for you just ask, we might just do it.

Always remember to use #APRmy if you’re on twitter so we can spread the word.

Love always,

Gerry Rose.

Dear friends, fans and loved ones,

APR was born and bred in Belfast over 7 years ago and we’ll always be a Belfast band but the time has come to spread our wings and start again on foreign soil (wink). We have built an incredible team of people working for us who feel it would be more beneficial for us if we lived in England and we realise that these opportunities don’t come to every band so we’re gonna give it a go. We’ll be leaving in May.

We want up thank everyone in Belfast who has supported the band over the years (WAY too many to list) and every band we’ve ever played with or seen play live. We love this city so much and you’ve given us lifelong memories.

We have one last Belfast headliner as residents before we leave in SU Radar Apr 25th come wish us luck.

Happy to announce a hometown Belfast show in our favourite club Radar in Queens Students Union Apr 25th. We go to this venue every Thurs to watch amazing bands and drink cheap booze. It’s amazing.
